Ballet Arts

Founded in 1937, Ballet Arts is the oldest professional dance school in New York City. Formerly located in Carnegie Hall, Ballet Arts found a new home in City Center in 1982. We are in the heart of New York dance and theater world.

For over 70 years, our school has provided a home for some of the finest teachers in America, where the creation and rehearsal of many famous ballets took place, and where many of the country renowned dancers and choreographers attended classes and went on to professional careers in dance companies, on Broadway and in film and television.

Ballet Arts has the largest and the most beautiful dance studio in New York.

The school has been in the family for generations and has a pleasant and cozy atmosphere.

Since 1953, Ballet Arts is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. Students from all over the world are welcome to study at Ballet Arts under our F-1 visa program. We offer classes in all styles and for all levels.
