The Joffrey Ballet Company is a dance company famous for its great and unique presentations that reflect their mission, of being a ballet company and an accessible education organization (Joffrey Academy of Dance) compromised to artistic excellence and innovation featuring masterpieces of the past and cutting edge. Historically the Joffrey ballet company is consider as the first dance company that performed at the White House, the first that appeared on television, the first to include rock 'n roll ballet and other recognitions.

Joffrey ballet was founded in 1956 by Robert Joffrey, an American dancer, teacher, producer and choreographer characterized by its imaginative modern ballets; and the co-founder Gerald Arpino, an American dancer and choreographer. Initially, the Joffrey Ballet Company was known by other two names such as: The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and City Center Joffrey Ballet.

The company performs worldwide known classical ballets such as: Romeo and Juliet, the Nutcracker, presented with prolific choreographies that express a unique perspective of dance and reflect proudly the diversity of America in its contemporary works. The Joffrey ballet company continues dazzling all audiences under the direction of the internationally renowned Artistic Director Ashley C. Wheater, who has dedicated his life to dance an joined the company at the invitation of Gerald Arpino; and the Executive Director Christopher Clinton Conway, the most visible arts management in America and a philanthropy expert; with the Music Director Scott Speck and a great staff, and the dedicated dancers.

Joffrey Ballet has other educational institutions associated; the Joffrey Ballet School founded by Robert Joffrey in 1953; nowadays, the Joffrey Ballet School transforms passionate and talented dance students into versatile artists by perfecting their techniques and form. The schools counts with programs for children, young dancers, ballet trainee, jazz and contemporary trainee, summer intensive, adult classes, workshops and master classes, and touring company.
