New York City ballet is one of the most renowned ballet companies worldwide, it has evolved in time influencing in US artistic history.

The ballet company was founded in 1948 by the choreographer George Balanchine and the writer Lincoln Kirstein (a cultural figure), since then, the company has trained its own dancers and produced its own works and now New York City ballet has a rich company history, repertoire of ballets, and world-class dancers with the aim of producing and performing a unique ballet repertory that would re-imagine the principles of classical dance created and established by its founders.
